The importance of capturing a Great Image!

December 28, 2014  •  2 Comments

Recently this Fort Worth wedding and portrait photographer has had many things have happen in his life that have changed him as an artist and businessman.  I have a new found belief that when I capture images I need to do so in a way that reflects there is no tomorrow, that is the emphasis that built Blue Scope Photography.  The main two reasons this has happened is the first was in late October with the passing of my granddad.  I have the fortunate pleasure to speak with him the weekend before his passing and it was a conversation that I will never forgot.  He told me that he was so proud of me, he was the proud of the man I became, and that my wife Latarsha was the best thing to happen to this family because it was her that brought you home from the war.  He said that he couldn't be anymore prouder of me for choosing to start my family and adopting my beautiful daughters, he expressed to me that he couldn't wait until he could officially meet them in person, that is one of those rare regrets I will have in my life.  However I continued capturing images as much as I can with the attitude I took away from the phone call with my grandpa and that is treat every image as if it were the last time you would ever take that image.  So even in his death my grandpa is still teaching me lessons to make me a better photographer.  I gave him two picture to take with him it was a picture of the two Great Grand Daughters he would never get a chance to meet in person.

The second reason on why capturing images have become so important to me was on Dec. 23, 2014 my dear Uncle Lacy was called home.  To be honest losing my granddad was tough and I was not ready for the loss of my Uncle Lacy.  Life definitely threw some curve balls at me.  I do find solace in the fact that one of the last images taken of my Uncle Lacy was taken by me and I truly think is shows the happiness that is his life and the man who he was.  So in one of his final memories we have of him it will be through images with his wife and his kids.  My goal as a photographer and the reason I created Blue Scope Photography has always been to create images that will last a lifetime and it is with a heavy heart that I share these images with you.  I hope you now understand  my reasons to take a great image!

Thanks you for sharing your personal experience. Sorry for your loss. Its amazing how precious a picture can be especially when it is an image of the person who is no longer around.
